Molding

Types of molding

      • compression - closer tolerance and cheapest to make; can also be done cold but provide close tolerance or good surface finish

      • Transfer (extrusion or gate molding) - higher pressures used providing greater details and strength

      • Injection - highest production of plastic parts with low rates

      • Jet (Modified injection molding) -

      • Extrusion - Tooling cost is lower than that of injection molding; Thickness of the material can be accurately controlled; Production rates are high; and can also produce intricate profiles/products
